Birds have feathers

A bird has feathers. Not just one species, but several types for different functions; Warmth, flying power, steering and showing off.
Birds come in many types, sizes, shapes and colors. They lay eggs from which their chicks are born; Like these coots and grebes chicks. A large number of birds can swim, most birds can also fly.
But where all the birds are recognizable is the fact that their body is almost completely covered with feathers. Such a feather package does not consist of one type of feather, but of different species. The different types of feathers all have a different function.
Feathers are of great importance for birds. So birds have donsveertjes to stay warm. Over there are coverts, which cover and protect the donsveertjes. and birds have percussion pins. These pins need them to be able to fly and steer. Some birds also use ornamental feathers to show off, like these beautiful eyes in the tail of a peacock.
